We made our first post on the 1st February so now that we are at the end of our very first month it seemed appropriate we should finish with a post of our progress over the last 28 days.

Co-incidentally that also is the number normally quoted in terms of the elapsed time needed for repetitive activity to either make (or break) a habit.

So, what have we achieved so far ?

We are pleased with having had just over 700 site visitors which at an average of 25 per day would give us just over 9,000 visitors a year if everything remained the same. Of course it is our intention to move things on continually and we would hope to be able to multiply that hit rate at least by a factor of ten within the next couple of months.

We started with just one video sharing site for our “general content” videos about a week before setting up this site but we have since then added six more and our intention was to focus on specific video content within each. This method has allowed us to achieve targeted AdSense Ads associated with the content on each site.

It is our plan to keep this process going and our next target is to have 50 video sharing “mini sites” all with a different content focus. This will give us a greater AdSense exposure and increase our income potential through the Ad placements on each. Our longer term target is for 100 sites each with a minimum of 100 videos which will give us a constantly changing exposure to around 100,000 AdSense Ads at that point. We will then assess the income being generated but whatever it is we will probably just keep going anyway … 100, 500, 1000 ?

Within the seven sites to date we have loaded a total of 219 Videos which have been viewed 6,223 times and with that we have achieved an AdSense Ad exposure of 4,993 … the associated income from that is not life changing but proves to us that we are heading in the right direction and that this will be a worthwhile activity over time.

It was totally clear to us right away that this is definitely not a get rich quick scheme and that it would need a sustained and consistent effort to build to a beneficial income stream. However it is a totally free option as well as an easy way to get started in earning a passive income through AdSense so we just jumped straight in and got started with it.

There is a fully supportive Forum already in place with lots of help available from the existing (and growing) member base as well as ongoing support and assistance from the originating founder(s) who are also constantly looking to enhance the revenue share potential.

We have had 21 people join us in this activity and they are each on their own journey towards a passive income through the AdSense revenue share.

We have been encouraging people to take a look at this through various means but with the very small number of people who have joined us we wonder if much of that lack of enthusiasm is perhaps due to how we have been outlining the opportunity ?

So, whilst writing this post we thought it would be beneficial to highlight the main thrust of what is actually available …

For anyone with a Website or Blog who is already, or at least contemplating, using enmbedded video to enhance the look and content of their site(s) then the video sharing concept should be investigated as a serious opportunity to generate an increasing amount of passive income over time through very little extra effort once the structure is in place. The compounding effect of adding videos and setting up more “mini sites” on a regular basis will soon reach a tipping point where the income starts to flow more freely and in greater amounts. The initial trickle when first starting out is perhaps a little disappointing but this is to be expected with a new venture … what should be considered is that loading videos onto a website is neither difficult nor hard work and after that the income will flow. How much will depend upon how long that activity is continued.

For anyone already using AdSense then this is a natural addition to enhance and boost that income stream. For those that have not considered AdSense then we can only stress that it is free to set up and easy to implement. For those with a website or blog already in existence then it really is worth investigating and with the explosion in online video usage the video sharing option is an even greater opportunity.

Joining us in this activity is also free and a website will immediately be made available to commence the embedding of videos from either YouTube or Video Google (other hosting sites may be added later).

Once the video code has been added to the video sharing site then the AdSense revenue sharing commences and the code from that site can then be used to embed videos on your own site(s). The advantage being that your own sites will then link to the video sharing site and improve your promotion and backlinks.

As far as we can see this opportunity is a win-win situation and it is totally legitimate as you will only be embedding the video code to enable you to show the video content on your video sharing site as well as any other sites you wish the videos to appear. There is much more that can be achieved if you are able to produce your own unique content videos but as a start using embedded video will allow anyone to get started.

Hopefully that is perhaps a better explanation of what is available to everyone and as there is absolutely no monetary cost we cannot imagine why anyone would pass up the opportunity to get involved with this ?

Have a look at any of our videos and you will see the link to join up just above the orange RSS logo … hopefully many more of our site visitors will be joining us in the coming months ?

YouTube videos are now being listed in the Video.Google.Com video search index and YouTube.Com has recently announced that they will start revenue sharing with video publishers

Chad Hurley the co-founder of YouTube.Com stated on 27th January 2007 that his wildly successful site will start sharing revenue with its millions of users.

So what effect has this had on the internet marketing community ?

To date it would seem that very little has happened which perhaps shows that the internet marketing community is slow to pick up on the potential for video marketing. Here is a quote from a very large and popular internet marketing forum about video marketing …

“I always thought to rank well in a video search engine you have to have a good catchy video that is viral. This will help to get people embedding the google code into their site giving it more popularity and then Google will know this and rank it higher.”

This is simply not the case and it is like saying that all you need to do is to build a great website and the money will come. But a website costing a $Million to create which is then not indexed in the major search engines is worth practically $zero !

This is the same with video on YouTube.Com and Video.Google.Com as you may have the funniest or most inspiring video ever made but if it is not seen by anybody you have just wasted a lot of time and energy producing it.

When you have literally tens of thousands of people submitting videos each day the competition is fierce in terms of getting your videos to the next stage, which is to be listed on the high ranking lists, and this is what you need to do to get maximum exposure to your videos.

Since Google.Com purchased YouTube.Com there was much speculation about what and how this would affect the video community as a whole.

Recently Video.Google.Com added the entire YouTube.Com video collection to its database effectively tripling the Video.Google.Com database immediately. The true effects of this merge have yet to be seen but those who regularly monitor the top 100 results in Video.Google.Com will see that nothing much has changed. Videos that ranked well for specific niches have been pushed down the VERPS (Video Engine Ranking Positions) . Videos that for the last 6 months ranked in the top 5 for the search term “Diet Coke Mentos” have now been pushed down the VERPS to the second page and replaced by videos from YouTube.Com.

Now YouTube.Com has announced that they will start revenue sharing.

Simply put this is sharing the revenue generated by advertising surrounding the video content similar to what TheVideoSense.Com (sharing 50%) is already doing currently with their video publishers.

YouTube.Com has not yet disclosed its plans so how and how much they are going to share the revenue is unknown at this stage but obviously those in the video marketing community are hoping it will be a lot. There has been no mention of their terms and conditions relating to the video content that will qualify for revenue sharing but most likely this is one of their strategies to increase their fresh video content being submitted to YouTube.Com and they will continue trying to stop their members submitting copyright material which has caused them so much grief to date.

At the very least since the recent YouTube.Com announcement will get the attention of the internet marketing community now that there is the added possibility of making money from videos.

There are huge changes happening on the internet right now and this area is a ground floor opportunity to be right at the forefront of Internet Video Marketing.

It’s pretty much an even playing field right now and those that have already taken advantage of the free signup at TheVideoSense.Com know for sure that there has never been a better time to get involved with the enormous potential of the opportunity that now presents itself to the internet community.

Now on the internet marketing scene is the Video SEO competition being promoted by Peter Drew one of the founders of TheVideoSense.Com and this was designed to encourage internet marketers to get involved in video marketing and to teach those people the skills needed to rank highly and get targeted traffic to their websites via freely hosted video content.
